Gareth is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and is responsible for the Group’s commercial activities. He has specialist expertise in offering due diligence advice to funders and investors and has advised some of the world’s most respected financial institutions and funds.
There’s not much Gareth likes more than to see a cricket ball flying across the skyline beyond the boundary of his beloved Durham County Cricket Club – and his most unusual job was actually as a cricket scoreboard operator.
However, there is irony in his first day's work in surveying: it was spent inspecting roof leaks which had caused major water damage in the disaster recovery unit of the National Rivers Authority.
His favourite building is Bamburgh Castle, viewed from the Northumberland coast, often when he's in training for participation in events such as The Great North Run.
