Michael Thirkettle has been Chief Executive of McBains since 2003.

Away from work, Michael, originally from Malta, is the Vice-President of a charity, which perhaps reflects the culture of care and integrity that flows through both his approach to business and the way McBains operates.

Outside of business and charity Michael maintains a stable of around 1,000 horses - the combined power output of his small collection of thoroughbred motorcycles.

Michael's favourite building is the Guggenheim museum, but he is equally enamoured by the looks of his favourite piece of Italian design: his MV Agusta F4 motorcycle.

Michael has a BSc in Building Surveying and has been a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) since 1989. He joined McBains in 1992.
