Nicole Bryan, a Level 6 Building Surveying Apprentice, was recently selected to feature in ‘Apprenticeships with LSBU Groups’ – a film created by Amazing Apprenticeships to showcase some of their most inspiring apprentices.
Nicole undertook a BSc (Hons) chartered surveying degree apprenticeship in Building Surveying with the LSBU Group, via a 5-year part time route that enabled her to attend formal training on campus at London South Bank University one day each week, whilst gaining valuable ‘on-the-job’ experience through her role as a Building Surveyor at McBains four days per week.
Speaking of her apprenticeship, Nicole described it as “… the best of both worlds because I’m able to get the theory side but also understand how to fit that into an actual workplace, work as a team, be part of a business and contribute”.
On her role at McBains, Nicole commented: “I don’t have a typical day, that’s why I love this job” and described how “McBains have been very fundamental to this part of my career. They have given me the support I’ve needed. They have provided me with the assistance and the team support”.
Nicole is proud to live and study in Southwark and is looking forward to the opportunity to give back to her community through her work.
Having recently successfully completed her programme of study, Nicole achieved the highest accolade – securing a first-class honours degree - and is now about to embark on her APC .
Andrew Hogg, Director at McBains, commented: “We’re very proud of Nicole and all that she’s achieved. She’s an incredibly hard working and dedicated member of staff, and an integral member of our surveying team.
“She is sure to have a very bright future and we look forward to continuing to support her on her professional journey”.
