We're very proud of McBains Senior Quantity Surveyor Laura Hennessy for her well-deserved shortlisting for a RICS Matrics Surveyor Award 2024.
Having originally undertaken a work experience placement at McBains in 2018 and regularly returning part time during her degree studies, Laura joined McBains on a permanent basis in 2020 and has quickly ascended through the ranks due to her strong work ethic and collaborative approach.
Adrian Southgate, Director at McBains, reflects on Laura’s time with McBains: “From the moment Laura first joined McBains, I couldn’t help but be impressed by her enthusiasm and desire to learn. We feel especially privileged to have been able to fuel her thirst for knowledge and support her professional growth. She epitomises everything that we look for in a surveyor - technical excellence, teamwork and an unwavering commitment to client satisfaction. She’s incredibly hard working and puts 100% into everything she does”.
RICS Matrics is an early career initiative designed to support students, apprentices, trainees and those who are newly qualified, as they move into the industry. The RICS Matrics Awards seek to recognise exceptional achievements within the emerging talent of the UK surveying industry.
Speaking of her nomination, Laura said: “I’m incredibly honoured and humbled to have been shortlisted. A heartfelt thanks to my incredible team at McBains. Their trust, encouragement and shared vision have allowed us to achieve great things together. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow alongside such talented professionals. This nomination is not just a personal milestone, but a reflection of the collective efforts of everyone along the way”.
