Construction of a new Community Diagnostics Centre at Southlands Hospital in Shoreham-by-Sea has reached successful completion; signalling the launch of enhanced diagnostic provision for the local community.
The dedicated, purpose-built facility houses an MRI scanner, a CT scanner, two X-ray machines and a chest X-ray machine and is set to provide earlier access to diagnostic facilities for patients.
McBains provided NEC Supervisor services to University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust for the Southlands Community Diagnostic Centre project.
Community diagnostics centres enable patients to access diagnostic facilities away from acute hospital settings; providing quicker access to care and helping to tackle NHS waiting lists. The UK Government has pledged to open 160 CDCs by March 2025, with over 100 facilities having already opened in a range of settings since the programme started in July 2021.
