Colin McCaffrey

Originally from Ireland, Colin is Director of our London Cost Management team and brings a calm, forensic approach to managing cost, risk and value across complex projects, informed by experience working in the UK, Ireland and Australia.

Colin thrives on the unique position the quantity surveying role holds within a project team — translating bold design ideas and fast-paced construction programmes into commercially viable outcomes for clients. He particularly values the direct client exposure that comes with being accountable for project finances, guiding schemes from early budget estimates through procurement, delivery, and ultimately to final account.

Through his role and experience, Colin has a deep understanding of the UK construction market and is responsible for production of our bi-annual construction market report; helping translate complex market data into clear insights for clients and colleagues alike.

Beyond project delivery, Colin is particularly passionate about enhancing and finessing our quantity surveying capability within the business. This goes beyond providing an excellent service to clients — it’s about improving how commercial information is produced, interpreted and communicated, ensuring it’s concise, transparent and genuinely useful for decision-making.

Outside of work, Colin has a strong love of sport, including rugby, golf, and GAA, and is a regular triathlon competitor — despite a well-documented dislike of the swimming leg! Weekends are often spent at live music events, happily moving between genres ranging from Metallica to Ludovico Einaudi, ideally with a cold beer in hand.
