Refurbishment works to existing properties (Phase 2), on the Maiden Lane Estate in the London Borough of Camden. (Please see related case study regarding Maiden Lane Phase 1).
Maiden Lane is a flagship project for the London Borough of Camden and forms part of the Council's innovative Community Investment Programme, a 15 year plan to invest over £400 million in Camden's housing, schools and other public services.
Phase 2 comprised renovation works that included the installation of new kitchens and bathrooms, re-wiring works, double glazing installation, a new district heating system and external fabric renewal works.
We undertook a feasibility study for the renewal of the district heating network for this major social housing estate in central London, comprising a community centre and 450 residential dwellings.
Infrastructure both within dwellings and between blocks formed part of the study.
We carried out a technical and financial appraisal for the renewal of the heating network.
This project involved close collaboration with various stakeholders within the Council and the residents themselves to maximise both the efficiency and energy CO2 reduction target for the client and usability for residents of the upgraded system.
