McBains was appointed to provide building surveying-led multidisciplinary consultancy services to design, procure and deliver external façade, roof repairs and redecoration works to a low-rise block of flats with rear mews houses in central London.
Our brief was to survey the external fabric and roofs of the buildings and to recommend any repair work we thought appropriate in addition to the essential external redecoration works.

Our recommendations were accepted by the managing agents / occupiers and we prepared detailed designs and specifications to enable the agents to competitively tender the works.
Following consultations with the occupiers, the contract was awarded using a JCT Intermediate Form of Contract 2016 which we administered throughout the construction delivery stage including certification, routine quality inspections, and final accounts, through to practical completion and handover.
Residents were kept fully informed of upcoming works through leaflets, regular liaison and door-to-door visits.
