McBains was appointed to deliver surveying services for the external repairs, decorations and roof recovery of a mid-terrace residential building spanning eight stories plus a basement in central London.

The brick-built building accommodates 45 two-, three- and four-bedroom properties, including penthouse-style apartments on the top floor.
As the works were undertaken during the summer months McBains specified the use of mast climbers in lieu of traditional scaffolding as the access method. Mast climbers are far less intrusive to residents, and when the works are not being undertaken on their floor, the windows are operational without opening onto scaffolding.
