For a man who forever helped change the way hospitals were funded, built and ultimately completed in the UK, it's perhaps a surprise - or maybe not - that Adrian is a man who starts many home DIY projects, but rarely finishes them.
At McBains, ironically he has a reputation of being exhaustively thorough. Adrian specialises in the delivery of project and cost management, operating at the leading edge of procurement initiatives, understanding best value. He is as strong a cost manager as he is a resources manager, and cut his teeth working on the first-ever hospital PFI project in the UK.
Adrian is a chartered surveyor and has an MBA, and enjoyed a brief period as a high-flyer in another field. A rock field: “Learning to kite surf, unfortunately I got it wrong early on and put a hairline crack in my pelvis having travelled 20m across a beach 2m in the air – and then landing on rocks. Scary, but I managed to hobble away.”
Other less dangerous interests include sailing, gardening and cooking. And home DIY.
