Mark may have set out for a career as an airline pilot, but now defines skylines rather than flies over them.Mark manages the operational side at McBains. Having studied interdisciplinary design at Cambridge University, his experience means he plays a central role in managing and developing the firm's culture and processes. He is RIBA-qualified architect with a BA Hons Degree in Architecture, a Post Graduate Diploma in Architecture, and a Diploma in Architectural Practice.
He believes that good design has a simple economy, is functional, honest, sustainable, innovative and above all, long-lasting. He has a particular interest in developing the digitalization of our way of working, leading the charge in changing the way buildings are designed and delivered to a process that is faster, simpler and more efficient. A better way!
He has firsthand experience of great designs and one of the most inspiring of skylines: “I spent time at the Parisian school of design and architecture. One evening the students all brought their musical instruments along and put on a jazz show on the roof among the chimney pots whilst drinking Pernod with the Pompidou, Eiffel Tower and Sacre Coeur as a backdrop.”
Mark’s into motorcycles, shooting, sailing and cooking.
