Director of London Project Management, Steve Brooker, recently served as a judge for the Building Better Healthcare Awards 2025, helping to review entries in the Building Class group, which spans nine categories, including the coveted Best Healthcare Development over £75 million.
The judging took place earlier this month, where Steve and fellow industry experts convened to evaluate entries. Projects were judged on their creativity, innovation and contribution to improving healthcare environments.
Reflecting on the experience, Steve commented: “It was a privilege to join such an accomplished panel and to see first-hand the breadth of innovation shaping the future of healthcare facilities. The quality of entries was outstanding, and it’s inspiring to see the sector pushing standards ever higher.”
Steve’s involvement with the judging process marks another proud milestone after McBains returned triumphant from the Building Better Healthcare Awards in 2024. Not only was the Louisa Martindale Building (3Ts) named 'Best Healthcare Development over £75m' but it also received the sought-after 'Grand Prix' prize - a special trophy presented to the entry from across all awards within the building design class that the judges felt had the most impact and is the most architecturally-significant development within health and social care.
The winners of this year’s awards will be revealed at a live ceremony in November, celebrating excellence and quality of care across the healthcare sector.
