Associate Director and Strategic BIM Lead at McBains, Devan Mistry, recently hosted a series of OpenVR sessions for internal project teams and students from Mossbourne Community Academy.
The sessions provided participants with an opportunity to collaborate immersively within project BIM models using The Wild’s VR platform and to learn further about the different workflows and outputs available for presenting designs in Virtual Reality and the Metaverse.
Devan commented: “As we move progressively into 2024, the AEC industry can really push its boundaries for optimising coordination intuitively and using technological advancements to inform better decision making for design. At McBains, we’re actively supporting our clients and stakeholders in exploring these possibilities”.
McBains is supporting students participating in the Mossbourne Architecture Programme, through mentoring, work experience opportunities, specialist talks, design reviews and tutorial sessions. The Mossbourne Architecture Programme is aimed at students interested in pursuing a career in the built environment, such as architecture, engineering, planning or surveying, and runs alongside the student’s chosen A level subjects.
