All of the above individuals possess the qualities expected of a senior McBains employee; being thoroughly professional, trustworthy, respectful and always willing to support clients, their colleagues and the wider business. Their promotions demonstrate how committed we are to supporting staff to develop their careers within the business. Their new roles will enable McBains to continue to grow and it is this growth that will drive and generate further opportunities for others within the business.
ANTHONY COUMIDIS has been promoted to Board Director. Since joining in 2000, Anthony has held a number of influential roles within the business; all of which have contributed significantly to revenue streams and strengthened the firm's credibility and reputation. He has been the innovator and driving force behind international projects and low carbon design solutions at McBains, capitalising on his 33 years' worth of experience of delivering projects in countries as diverse as Jordan, Greece, Colombia, Mexico, Montenegro and the UK. Since establishing the Athens office in 2009, our Greek operations have gone from strength to strength under his stewardship and through his position as Commercial Director, Anthony has successfully aligned our bidding activity with the business strategy to leverage business and market opportunities. His appointment onto the McBains Board reflects his value to the business and is much deserved.
STUART SMART has been promoted to Project Director within the Thames Valley office. Since joining in 2018, Stuart has brought a fresh perspective to challenges and complementary skills to the team, thanks to his twenty years working within contracting organisations. He is an extremely capable surveyor, with a strong work ethic and is not fazed by new challenges. He is a huge asset to the team and his promotion to Project Director is well deserved.
ANNA KEALEY has been promoted to Project Director within London's Architecture (LAR) team. Since joining as a Project Architect in February 2017, Anna has proven to be a very commercially aware team player, with a keen eye for detail. A RIBA Chartered Architect, she is a highly motivated individual who demonstrates a strong ability to lead a project team from concept design to fully coordinated project delivery on site. She is experienced in managing all members of a project team including stakeholders, consultants and contractors and is particularly effective in operating within McBains interdisciplinary environment.
MATT BALDWIN has been promoted to Associate Director within the London Architecture team. With an ability to collaborate effectively with all other disciplines, Matt demonstrates all of the characteristics we expect in a true 'interdisciplinarian'. His calm and measured approach to problem solving, combined with his ability to develop strong professional relationships with clients, has led to him managing and dealing directly with key clients and play a key role in many pitches and presentations. His promotion recognises the level of client interaction he undertakes and rewards his personal commitment, hard work and achievements.
LEWIS MCKENZIE has been promoted to Associate Director within the London Building Surveying team. Since joining in 2014, Lewis has proven to be a loyal and hard-working member of the team. He is both technically and professionally a very capable surveyor who is committed to the delivery of a first-class service; which is regularly praised by clients. As an experienced surveyor, Lewis plays an important role in managing and training the more junior members of the team. His promotion reflects his value to the team and wider business.
JAMES TRUSCOTT has been promoted to Associate Director within the London Cost Management team. Since joining in 2017, James has proven to be a technically-assured and competent cost manager and quantity surveyor; leading a range of new build and refurbishment projects. As well as managing various project related deliverables, James works exceptionally well in managing more junior members of the team, including a formal role of mentoring and managing both their workload, and prioritising activities. James is commercially aware, with excellent technical and contractual knowledge and a keen eye for detail.
ELENA COCUCCIONI has been promoted to Associate Director within the London Housing team. As one of the original members of the Housing team, Elena has made a significant contribution to the growth and success of the team over the years. This has included streamlining how we set up and develop our project documentation and disseminating this to the team, together with managing many projects concurrently; all with a great sense of ownership and good humour. She has worked extensively across the Housing client base, earning their trust through her strong sense of client care. As well as playing a strong role in cementing the reputation of the team, her work has been a key component in its productivity.
FRANCESCA COSTANTINO has been promoted to Associate Director within the London Housing team. Francesca has a very strong technical skill base and an attention to detail in her work that is second to none. She is an excellent monitor of the quality of work within the team and has a great sense of recall on projects and details from the past that prove invaluable in avoiding duplication and mistakes. Francesca works diligently to meet client expectations, managing many projects at the same time. She will manage team members to ensure that deadlines are always met, showing a tremendous sense of client care and going the extra mile to handle the inevitable last-minute client changes.
STEVE BROOKER has been promoted to Associate Director within London's Project Development team. Since joining McBains in 2018, Steve has proven to be an invaluable member of the team. He is commercially aware and results-driven, with a great team-player mentality. This combined with his technical project management and team leadership skills are helping us to deliver various projects under key frameworks.
HARRY LOCKWOOD has been promoted to BIM / CAD Collaboration Manager within London's Mechanical & Electrical Engineering team. Harry is a proactive member of the team, with a willingness to take on additional challenges and responsibility. He has improved our Revit offering and delivered Revit and MagiCAD training to his colleagues. He is involved in client meetings and will challenge other design disciplines in co-ordination of the Revit models to ensure these are in the correct presentation for the client. Harry is a great team player and unites the team through his role as team social secretary.
ANTONIS MARINIS has been promoted to Senior Building Services Engineer (Mechanical) within London's Mechanical & Electrical Engineering team. With the skills to survey both mechanical and electrical services, Antonis has proven to be a key asset to the team since joining in 2019 and has integrated well with his colleagues. He carries out a varied role, takes a proactive approach with clients and always ensures the timely delivery of his workload. He is able to build rapport with clients such that they approach him direct. His enthusiasm and initiative have been welcomed, as has his support for other disciplines. Antonis' ability to think outside the box has also been appreciated by clients and he's able to work calmly under pressure.
GIUSEPPE (JOE) SIRACUSA has been promoted to Senior Building Services Engineer (Mechanical) within London's Mechanical & Electrical Engineering team. Joe is a diligent and highly valued member of the team. He is highly regarded by clients and colleagues alike, thanks to his hard work, commitment and consistently high level of service. His adaptability to change is great and having been trained in Revit and Magi Cad, he now uses both on a daily basis to develop the building services design within the Revit model. Joe always has a smile on his face despite the daily stresses that he faces. He has been able to build some good relationships with clients that has led to repeat business. His promotion reflects both his technical expertise and value to the team.
