McBains makes two senior appointments to its expanding Manchester office

Leading property and construction consultancy McBains has appointed Neil Stubbs and Tristan Saunders as Project Directors to their Manchester team.

Neil Stubbs joins from AECOM, where he was a director overseeing major project delivery concerning multi agency defence infrastructure and served as Interim Director of Estate Development at the University of Manchester. He has over thirty years of experience in the industry across higher education, public service broadcasting, sport, logistics, heritage, and commercial developments.

He has led several significant projects, including the the £440m Manchester Engineering Campus Development at the University of Manchester, BBC’s flagship ‘North’ project and the Job Centre Plus transformation programme across the North West.

Tristan Saunders joins from Identity Consult, where he led high-profile projects including Lancaster University, Alexander Stadium, and served as Higher Education sector lead across various programmes. He has over fifteen years of experience across government, higher education, sport, and residential sectors, holding senior roles at Mace, JLL, and Bruntwood.

He has managed key projects including the £240M+ ‘This City’ Housing Programme in Greater Manchester, the £16.5M V&A Stratford East fit-out, and major works at the Houses of Parliament, including the £170M Victoria Tower refurbishment.

Both appointments support McBains’ ongoing growth in the North West, where the Manchester team has grown from 10 to 18 over the past 18 months. The team is currently delivering a range of high-profile projects, including Lancashire Constabulary’s Critical Policing Infrastructure Programme.
