McBains is to move to a new home – a co-location hub at 48-50 St John Street, Farringdon, London EC1.
Located just minutes from both the existing Farringdon station and the new Farringdon Crossrail entrance, the 19,543 square feet property comprises a 1960s building fronting onto St John Street and a Victorian warehouse building at the rear.
The prominent, mid-terraced property will become home to McBains following an extensive refurbishment and redevelopment project.
McBains will lead the refurbishment and base-build works and will target the building to be zero net carbon.
McBains staff will move in from their current base at 26 Finsbury Square at the end of 2023.
Mark Leeson, Operations Director at McBains commented:
“We are incredibly excited by the opportunity to revitalise an existing property and transform it into an inspiring workplace. We’re looking forward to being able to tailor the space to our individual requirements and to showcase what we believe to be the future of office space – prioritising technology and collaborative work settings.”
McBains will have its own unique floorspace with communal areas set aside for teams to come together socially and collaboratively, making use of the building’s roof terraces and internal courtyard. The building will also feature touch down space for other, regional offices and incubator space for new businesses.
