An intrepid crew from McBains took to the water on Thursday May 19, 2022 to take part in the 22nd Construction Industry Dragon Boat Challenge in aid of CRASH; the construction industry's charity.
The McBains Castaways showed great determination and teamwork to finish in 15th place out of 36 teams, despite only having eight paddlers, as opposed to the standard ten.
The annual event took place at the West Reservoir in Stoke Newington, London, with each team competing in two heats and The McBains Castaways narrowly missing out on the semi-finals, for which only the top 12 teams qualified.
Huge congratulations to all those who took part and helped raise over £17,000 for CRASH but an extra special mention to the McBains Castaways who did us all proud in their inaugural dragon boat challenge: Ollie Bass, Mary Neveling, Warwick Stockdale, Nic Bell, Renata Camargo, Rob Dewhirst, Carlos Gonzalez, Jack Rhodes and Cheyanne Walters (Drummer).
