A mixed-use regeneration scheme in the heart of the Isle of Dogs, consisting of 6 residential blocks plus a leisure block.
The scheme, by Galliard Homes in a joint venture with Frogmore and Cain Hoy, will deliver 901 homes of mixed tenure, together with retail, leisure facilities and a dedicated community facility, across seven buildings which range in height from 8 to 42 storeys.
In total, 2 Millharbour will provide 624 homes for private sale, 277 intermediate and affordable rented homes, 10,538 square feet of ground floor retail / commercial premises and an 11,292 square feet, 6-storey entertainment and leisure facility providing a lounge/library, gymnasium/spa, private cinema, cocktail bar and club lounge.
The centrepiece of the development is the 42-storey Maine Tower which will offer 297 private-residential apartments. The site is built around a landscaped central podium with underground car park and stacker system whilst the site benefits from its own energy centre utilising CHP.
Greystar, America’s PRS giant, has agreed the £230million forward purchase of 2 Millharbour’s rental apartments, whilst Genesis Housing has agreed the pre-purchase of the scheme’s affordable, key worker housing.
The £550m scheme at 2 Millharbour, now called Harbour Central, forms part of Galliard’s plans for the wider Millharbour Village area, which also includes sites at 3 Millharbour and 6-8 South Quay Square.
