NatWest ATM Replacement Programme

NatWest

As part of our ongoing relationship with NatWest Group to cost manage their retail branch programme of works, McBains was assigned a capital project for the replacement of over 2,500 ATMs throughout the UK by 2026.

This new requirement, awarded in addition to our regular commission, stems from the trust built over many years of successfully working with NatWest Group. Due to the varying nature of the ATM sites, this project has unique complexities, mainly of a logistical nature, such as listed building considerations, landlord constraints, out of hours working, and security requirements.

To deliver this programme without delays, we have successfully deployed and managed resources, aligned to the pace of the programme. We produced a flexible resource plan that allows additional resources, beyond the original 2024 allocation, to be deployed during critical phases in Q3 and Q4 of 2025, and thereafter in 2026. This corresponds to the client’s need to be ready for forthcoming business-critical ATM software updates and targets the anticipated expiry date of the current ATM operating systems.
