Our team has supported NatWest with their capital projects programme since 2012. The programme covers corporate, commercial, and private banking premises for RBS, NatWest and Coutts (all part of NatWest Group).
Typical projects include branch relocations, ATM replacement programmes, branch and merchandising programmes, branch refurbishments, branch closures, branch separations, office refurbishments, MEP improvements and building fabric upgrades.

Branch refurbishments range from a basic refresh (decoration) to an enhanced refresh (decoration, furniture, shop-front and external branding) in heartland branches through to complete refurbishment of the bank's primary and flagship locations.
The group’s major project requirements are varied, encompassing demolitions and alterations, internal walls and partitions (comprising doors and ironmongery), wall, floor and ceiling finishes, mechanical and electrical services and associated work in connection with the service installations.
Commercial challenges are always present in the delivery of a fully design-compliant retail branch given space, location, and risks around existing footprint and mechanical and electrical infrastructure. McBains has gathered a wealth of historical commercial data in relation to retail branch works which assists in giving accurate and timely cost estimates to the client, identifying and managing the individual project’s commercial risks.
