McBains has moved into new premises in Athens as it looks to expand the scale of its work across Greece and the Mediterranean region.
McBains Cooper Hellas Technical Consulting S.A., a wholly-owned subsidiary of McBains, has re-located to larger premises at 104 Agias Paraskevis Street, GR-15232, Chalandri, Athens, reflecting its ambition to build on its successful projects including those in the hotel and leisure sector, commercial office sector and public private partnerships (PPP).
Its Athens office will provide services including project monitoring, PPP/concessions advisory services, technical advisory services, risk assessment, due diligence, surveying and engineering.
McBains has had a presence in Greece for 10 years. Projects it has worked on include Greece’s first-ever schools PPP project in the Attica region, a €58 million development comprising the design, financing, construction and facilities management of 14 school units hosting more than 3,500 students; the five-year investment plan of CAPEX Improvements and redevelopment of the five-star IKOS-SANI Group resort in Halkidiki; and the €60 million rebranding of the ex-Ledra hospitality complex in Athens to Grand Hyatt.
McBains has been also appointed as the lender’s technical advisor of the Alimos Marina Concession Project sponsored by AKTOR S.A. and is also working towards the finalisation of tender documentation for Greece’s first healthcare PPP project, the €58m Biomedical Research Facility of Athens Academy.
In the wider region, McBains has provided lenders technical advisory and project monitoring services for the Marine Works (Phase A) of the luxurious Ayia Napa Marina Development in Cyprus to be completed in 2021, which will offer world-class yachting facilities, top-end residences, retail and leisure facilities and an event centre. The company is also now acting as Lenders Technical Adviser of the Trilogy Limassol Seafront Development, a €350m mixed-use development of residential, leisure and retail areas developed across three towers each of 150m. McBains is also acting as the Investors Representative for the Montrose development, a mixed-use hospitality/leisure and private villa complex to be developed in five phases in Herceg Novi in Montenegro.
Anthony Coumidis, Managing Director, McBains Cooper Hellas Technical Consulting S.A. said:
“McBains Hellas has been a fixture in Greece for the last decade and with the outlook in Greece and the wider region looking strong, the new larger premises will allow us to continue to expand ahead of the market and continue to be well-placed to offer a quality service to our clients.”
