Ana joined McBains in 2020 as Director of the civil and structural engineering division with an active interest in building sustainability and reducing embodied carbon.

Originally from Portugal, where she gained a degree in Civil and Structural Engineering from the Instituto Superior Técnico, Ana began her career in Lisbon before moving to the UK where she has delivered engineering projects in a wide range of sectors and materials - ranging from residential projects in load bearing masonry, to RC residential frames, as well as commercial, healthcare and industrial steelwork frames.

Ana is a Mental Health First Aider and leads the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Forum, assisting senior management in enhancing the EDI strategy for the business.

In her spare time, Ana likes to read and spend time outdoors.
