Ricards Lodge Sixth Form

Merton Council -- Auburn Construction

The design for the new sixth form block at Ricards Lodge High School comprises a two-storey building featuring three science classrooms / laboratories and associated prep room areas, a CAD suite, two staff offices, a sixth form café, independent study areas and ancillary accommodation.

McBains was originally appointed by Merton Council to prepare a feasibility study for expansion of its sixth form facilities at Ricards Lodge High School to support a successful DfE Post-16 Capacity Fund Application.

Following the bid in early 2023, a multidisciplinary team was then appointed to develop the design up to RIBA Stage 3 Employer’s Requirements and to submit a planning permission application. After successful appointment of a main contractor, McBains continued to deliver the project providing both a client-side advisory role and a contractor-side delivery team.
