Refurbishment of office premises on Islington High Street in London to enable the building to re-open as a new, state-of-the-art tech campus for high-growth start-ups.
We were appointed to cost manage the project on behalf of RBS – development partner for the scheme by Rocketspace, a San-Francisco based company.
The campus, located in Angel Tube station, provides flexible working spaces for up to 1,500 people across a 9000 square metre floorplate.
Services and amenities will accommodate the needs of growing tech start-up teams, including office-as-a-service, a multi-gigabit Internet connection, cafe, collaborative workspaces and a large event space.
Members will have access to hands-on workshops, peer group roundtables, trend talks and networking events, among other services.
Regents House, a 1980s building previously housing Natwest’s cash holding centre, bank vault and offices, was stripped back to its shell for its transformation into a state-of-the-art tech campus.
The upper floors provide co-working desks and office suites, whilst the double-height basement has been converted into event space, meeting rooms, a café and bar. The original bank vault has been transformed into a games room and lounge.
The new facility is Rocketspace’s first tech campus outside of the US where is has housed the likes of Spotify and Uber in their early days.
