Fit out of office premises in Reading and East London for Thales, the global technology firm.
McBains was appointed to cost manage the fit out of Thales new headquarters building in Reading.
Thales sought to undertake a fit out of “shell and core” within an existing building, 350 Longwater Avenue, at the 195 acres Green Park business park in Reading. The building required CAT A and B fit out to specific client requirements, including some replacement of existing hardware that has become obsolete.
The four storey office building features a full-height glass-fronted atrium and communal terrace area and offers over 110,000 square feet of floor space. The final accommodation provides a mix of laboratories, light industrial accommodation and office space.
Following on from this appointment, McBains was asked by Thales to provide an inter-disciplinary service to the refurbishment and fit out of the 4th and 5th floors of Quadrant House, close to St Katharine’s Dock in East London.
Quadrant House is home to Thales’ transportation division and is part of the 4.2 acre Thomas More Square Estate.
