Canary Wharf, Greater London

Consort Place

Far East Consortium (FEC)

The development includes three towers, a 65-storey residential tower rising to 217 metres, alongside two other shorter towers of 20 and 34-storeys containing a hotel and further residential accommodation.

The scheme, known as Consort Place, houses 634 homes, a 20-floor hotel of 231 rooms managed by Dorsett Hospitality International and a new school and health centre.

The scheme was consented in 2016 having been called in by the Mayor of London (one of the last to be granted approval by the then Mayor Boris Johnson). A complex project with multiple uses on a very tight urban site, the scheme was refined by our delivery team, working closely with Architect’s in Hong Kong who oversaw the development of the concept.

The project used the very latest techniques to speed up the construction process, building on our experience from completed major projects elsewhere in London including Elephant Road in Southwark.

The project was developed to BIM Level 2 and the co-ordination of the BIM model was led by McBains.

The project also included the restoration of the 160-year-old North Pole public house.
