You will be from a Building Surveying/Real Estate background looking to specialise in Party Walls. In addition to offering your assistance to aid the growth of the Party Wall division within the wider team, you will also receive the opportunity to develop your skills working on traditional Professional Building Surveying opportunities such as Contract Administration, Dilapidations, Acquisition Surveys, Condition Surveys and various forms of Maintenance reporting alongside Neighbourly Matters services. Currently the Party Wall team operating as part of the London Building Surveying Team are engaged on various high-profile and exciting schemes both in the commercial and residential sectors.
It is anticipated but not essential, that the candidate will have entry level building surveying skills in most areas, taking an independent responsibility specialising as a Party Wall Surveyor conversant in discharging duties in accordance with The Party Wall etc. Act 1996.
McBains are seeking a dynamic individual, with good experience acting as a Building Owners Surveyor, Adjoining Owners Surveyor and Agreed Surveyor. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate competence in this field with a keen interest in finding and securing new opportunities for the team. It will be important for the candidate to be involved in bidding and fee management with a desire to follow trends in supplying this service at the most competitive level.
You will be efficient in managing multiple schemes from inception to completion and should be capable of managing your own time effectively across concurrent engagements. As this is an exciting opportunity available to grow the specialist sub-division, it will be important that you hold good interpersonal and networking skills, with a clear intention to contribute towards this objective. As such, we are looking for the individual to ideally hold a membership with The Pyramus and Thisbe Society and/or The Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors, or instead be looking to join.
There is a strong work from home arrangement and flexibility toward a general requirement to attend the office 1 – 2 times a week which will remain in place long term. The position will also present a clear route for career development working alongside many APC Level colleagues to help tailor and develop involvement in other professional services when the opportunity arises as part of the well-established Building Surveying team based in London.
