McBains was appointed to provide surveying services to the reconfiguration of half of the 10th floor at 10 South Colonnade in Docklands for an office fit-out.
The works involved the installation of acoustic sliding partitions to create flexible meeting rooms, along with offices and workspaces designated for government staff.
10 South Colonnade houses several government departments including DHSC, NHS England and the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). The building is leased by the government until 2032
Numerous challenges were addressed during the project, notably the management of the aging Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) services within the building. This necessitated partial isolation of systems such as the sprinkler system to facilitate the reconfiguration works.
