The major regeneration of Harlow bus station and Terminus Street area is a catalytic, town centre scheme set to transform a run-down part of Harlow into a vibrant and welcoming gateway to the town.
A new multi-modal transport hub and interchange will replace Harlow’s previous bus station, with integrated bus, cycle and pedestrian facilities and enhanced public realm.

Supported by the Government’s Local Regeneration Fund, the scheme is pivotal to the council’s town centre investment plan and will support both existing public transport routes and new sustainable transport corridors; encouraging sustainable modes of transport such as walking, cycling and public transport, that underpins the regeneration aspirations of Harlow District Council (HDC).
McBains is supporting HDC’s ambitions to regenerate Harlow town centre through involvement with the council’s over-arching masterplan and several individual, public realm projects such as the transport interchange and hub.
The new sustainable travel hub will feature 16 bus stands, as well as cycle spaces and over 10,000sqm of enhanced public realm; transforming the character of the area, ensuring visitors and residents feel welcome, safe and connected.
